
Brief Security Assessment 2018:
- The conflict in Eastern Ukraine has largely been intermittent, with rare occurrences of intense conflict throughout the year. Remaining a frozen conflict.
- The ‘Ukrainian Orthodox Church’ has been formed, splitting the country from the influence of the Russian Orthodox branch.
- In late 2018 we saw the blockading of the Kerch Straight by Russian special forces. The Ukrainian military is on high alert.
